Create and send a quote
A quote is the price you send a customer before you dispatch, like a contractor estimate. Save & Create does not email the customer. List Options has no Send, and there is no quote SMS.
Create
- Open Quotes. Click + New Quote. An empty list shows No Quotes Found and Add Quote.
- On Create Quote, search Customer or Location. After you pick one, you see Customer: and Location:. Click Change if you need a different match.
- Set Quote Date and Due Date. Fill Service to Provide if you need it. Use Private Notes (Comments) for internal notes.
- Under Line Items, click Add line. Set TYPE to Haul, Fee, or Tax. For a haul line, open Haul Details. Set Type and Material Type. On Standard Inventory, pick Container. On Legacy Inventory, set Pull Size and Set Size.
- Under Options, check Require Up-Front Payment if they must pay before you deliver. If the checkbox is disabled, the hint is (Requires Standard Invoicing feature). Optional: check Automatically Create Haul when Quote is Approved.
- Click Save & Create. The quote saves as
draft. Save & Create does not email anyone. Click Cancel if you do not want to save.
If billing is missing, you see Billing Information Required and Complete Billing Information.
Send
Sending is not on the list Options menu.
- Open the quote. On the list, click Options, then Edit. On Quote {number} - View, click Edit Quote.
- Click Save & Send Email Quote. On a phone this button says Save & Send. Use Save if you only want to save.
- Fill Send Quote Email: To, CC (Optional), Subject, and Email Body. Click Send Email.
From Quote {number} - View, click Send Email if the status is draft , or Resend Email if it is pending-approval or expired . Same modal.
To share the public review page without sending, click Options, then Copy Customer Portal Link. On the view page, Customer Review Link also has Copy Link.
List Options includes Edit, View, Timeline, and Delete. It does not include Send. Office Approve Quote and Reject Quote are office-side. See Customer quote approval.
