Convert to Standard Inventory
Conversion switches your team from Legacy Inventory (2021-2026) to Standard Inventory (released mid-2026). An Administrator does this from Admin → Inventory Method after Hauler support enables it. Conversion is permanent.
If you do not see Inventory Method under Admin, ask Hauler Software support to enable it for your account.
- Go to Admin → Inventory Method. Heading Inventory Method.
- Review the Standard Inventory card. Before conversion it shows NEW. The card says you will track every container as an individual unit, pricing becomes editable price sheets, service areas resolve by postal code, and drivers pick a container at the start of each haul.
- Compare it with Legacy Inventory. That card shows Current while you are still on Legacy. It describes your existing dumpster fleet and pricing setup.
- Read Conversion is permanent. Dumpsters, pricing rules, and city rules become containers, price sheets, and service areas. There is no revert.
- Check the preview counts: Containers, Customer sheets, and Location sheets.
- Select I understand that converting to Standard Inventory cannot be undone.
- Select Convert to Standard Inventory. The button changes to Converting….
- Wait for the Converting your inventory… banner. You can leave this page while it runs.
- When it finishes, you should see Conversion complete and a count of containers and price sheets created.
- Select Open inventory settings.
If conversion fails
You should see Conversion failed. This may be due to limited server resources at the time of your request. When this occurs, the job simply did not run and there is no work needed on your end.
Select Try again.
