Set service areas

Create a service area so hauls in a named set of ZIP codes can use a specific price sheet. An area needs both a price sheet and at least one ZIP before it is IN USE.

These steps are for Standard Inventory only. After conversion, Admin → Pricing becomes Price Sheets and Service Areas. If Admin still shows Pricing, you are on Legacy Inventory.

Statuses: EMPTY (no sheet and no ZIPs), NEEDS ZIPS, NEEDS PRICE SHEET, and IN USE.

Create the price sheet first. Then create the area. Then attach the sheet.

Create a price sheet for the area

  1. Go to Admin → Price Sheets.
  2. Select + New Price Sheet.
  3. Name the sheet after the area.
  4. Leave Set as default sheet unchecked.
  5. Fill in the rates you need. Leave a cell empty if you do not offer that rate.
  6. Select Create. The sheet sits under Not yet assigned until you link it to the area.

Create the service area

  1. Go to Admin → Service Areas. Use Map or Table.
  2. Select + New area.
  3. Enter a name.
  4. Paste ZIP codes, or click ZIP polygons on the map. Zoom in to click individual ZIPs.
  5. Select Create.

Attach the price sheet

  1. Open the area.
  2. Under Price Sheets, select Add a price sheet....
  3. Choose the sheet and select Add. Status becomes IN USE. Color is optional.

Edit ZIP codes later

  1. Open the area and select Edit zips.
  2. Type or paste ZIPs, click polygons, or select Derive from history.
  3. Select Save zips.

You can change the color or name, Remove assignments, or Archive the area.
